Statement Of Faith

  1. We believe in the Holy Scriptures, accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments as the very Word of GOD, verbally and plenarily inspired and therefore wholly without error as originally given of God, and preserved to all generations according to the promise of God, altogether sufficient in themselves as our only and infallible rule of faith and practice.   2. We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. [Matt. 28:19; John 10:30; John 4:24; John 1:1]
  3. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man, was crucified, giving Himself upon  the cross for our sin. That the third day He rose from the dead and was glorified in the same body in which he suffered and died. And that he is now our High Priest in Heaven appearing before the face of God as our Advocate and Intercessor.   4. We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Triune God who convicts the world of sin; regenerates, indwells, enlightens, empowers, baptizes, guides, teaches and sanctifies all who become children of God through Christ. [Matt. 28:19; Gen. 1:2; John 16:8-11; I Cor. 3:16, 6:19; Rom. 8:14]
  5. We believe in the creation  and fall of man. We believe that Adam was the direct creation of God in whose image he was created, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God, that all those descended  from Adam are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed.   6. We believe in salvation by Grace through Faith. Men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus. [Acts 13:38, 16:31; John 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9]
  7. We believe in the existence and personality of Satan. [Job 1:6-7; Jude 1:9; II Cor. 4:4; Rev 20]
  8. We believe in the bodily resurrection and the future life. [Phil. 1:21-23; I Cor. 15; Rev. 20:1-6; II Cor. 5:8; I John 3:2]
  9. We believe in the eternal punishment of the ungodly. [Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:11-15; Jude 1:13]
  10. We believe in the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, that it will be personal, premillenial and that it is imminent. [Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:16-17; Titus 2:11-13]
  11. We believe in the one true Church, which consists of all those who have been born again and that they are members of the body of Christ. All the various members of this one Spiritual Body should assemble themselves together in local churches for worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching, united testimony, and the observance of the ordinances of our Lord. [I Cor. 12:12-13; Heb. 10:25; Acts 2:41-47]
  12. We believe that all those who truly receive the Lord Jesus as Savior and Lord are born of God, that by this birth from God they are the children of God. We believe that they are made partakers of the divine nature by the incoming and indwelling of the Holy Spirit and are sealed with the Holy Spirit. These believers are kept by the power of God, that they will be raised by the Lord Jesus Christ at His return and that they will be presented faultless before the presence of His Glory.   13. We believe in separation from the world. All the saved are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices. [Rom. 12:2; James 4:4; I John 2:15-17; Eph. 5:3-11]
  14. We believe in righteous living and good works, good works do not procure salvation in any sense, but it is are the proper evidence and fruit of the new birth. [Titus 2:14; Acts 1:8; John 15]
  15. We believe that those “born again” possess two natures and that they may be victorious over the old through the power of the new, but the eradication of the old in this life is unscriptural. [Rom. 6:13, 8:12-13; Gal. 5:16-25; Eph. 4:22-24; col. 3:10; I Peter 1:14-16; I John 3:5-9]
  16. We believe that God created man and woman specifically for each other within the bounds of the heterosexual marriage relationship as described in Scripture, and that as a result any and all forms of sexual intimacy outside of the bonds of marriage as defined by the Scriptures are sin and that any form of marriage that deviates from God’s original design as described in Scripture is sin.   17. We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing lawsuits against other Christians or the church to resolve personal disputes. We believe the church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek compensation from injuries from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander.   18. We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home, 2) the church, and 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. [Rom. 13:1-7; Eph. 5:22-24; Heb. 13:17; I Pet. 2:13-14]
  19. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Divorce and remarriage is regarded as adultery. Although divorced and remarried persons may hold positions of service in the church and be greatly used of God for Christian service, they may not be considered for the offices of pastor or deacon.   20. We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life and is therefore murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the physical or mental well being of the mother are acceptable. [Job. 3:16; Ps. 51:5, 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24, 49:1 & 5; Jer. 1:5, 20:15-18; Luke 1:44]
  21. We believe that the direct taking of an innocent human life is a moral evil, regardless of intention. Life is a gift from God and must be respected from conception until natural death. Thus we believe that an act or omission which, of itself or by intention, causes death in order to eliminate suffering constitutes murder contrary to the will of God. Discontinuing medical procedures that are extraordinary or disproportionate to the expected outcome can be a legitimate refusal of over-zealous treatment. [Ex. 20:13, 23:7; Matt. 5:21; Acts 17:28]
  22. We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to financially support his local church. We believe that God has established the tithe as a basis for giving, but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the church, the relief of those in need, and the spread of the gospel. We believe that a christian relinquishes all rights to the direct or control use of his tithe or offering once the gift has been made. We understand that the above statements do not by any means exhaust the content of our creed which is the whole Word of God and they are not intended to set a limit beyond which Faith cannot go within this world; but we do believe that insofar as these articles extend they are a true presentation of the sound doctrine taught in the Scriptures and therefore binding upon us as Christian Believers.
